They have won over 250 international awards and recognitions, are focused on Building Worlds Kids Love and encourage youngsters to “imagine, build and play."

The New York Toy Fair is coming up in mid-February and provides an ideal opportunity for K'NEX to introduce their 2015 product line, consisting of 47 new products and two new brands. The new products are geared to a growing audience of young girls looking to use toys for building science, technology, engineering and math skills, but also action outdoor play that traditionally had been the domain of boys. Mighty Makers, consists of a line of construction toys designed to empower girls through creative and stimulating building ideas. Created by an all-female marketing and design team, the Mighty Makers building sets encourage girls ages 7+ to build BIG ideas. Holding suppliers accountable to ethical employment standards and working conditions has become an important touch point for many retailers and brands.  The factory fire in Bangladesh, which killed over 100 people last year, was a glaring example of the safety negligence that takes place in many manufacturing facilities around the world.  Child labor, unpaid workers and hazardous work conditions underscore the need for retailers to demand that suppliers meet and comply with a higher set of standards.

One of the ways a business shows its appreciation for their community is by supporting the work of organizations who make a positive impact throughout the year.  We support a local branch of the MS 150 Cyclepaths, a group of bicyclists who participate in the City to Shore Biking event that takes place in New Jersey.  Established in 2006, this local group continues to set higher goals and increase their membership.  In 2013, the 60 member riders exceeded their fund raising goal and generated over $31,000.

Like the proverbial child who runs away from home only to return before nightfall, an American toymaker is bringing most of its manufacturing back to the U.S.—after more than a decade of outsourcing in Asia. The decision of K’NEX Brands, a family-owned maker of plastic building toys, to boost manufacturing at The Rodon Group, its Hatfield, Pa. plant, is only one example of a major trend. Persuasive factors leading to the ultimate decision included quality control, overall costs, timeliness of deliveries, and intellectual property issues. Many are following the lead of K’NEX and rediscovering that home sweet home is the best place to make and distribute products after all.

The Rodon Group hosts President Obama

Pride is something that is built on hard work, determination and commitment.  On Friday, November 30, 2012, The Rodon Group proudly hosted the President of the Unites States.  We were chosen by the White House to represent not only the manufacturing sector of our economy but small businesses as well.

Coordinating the logistics of such an event is impressive. The White House team arrived on the Sunday prior to walk through our facilities.  By Monday other White House staffers arrived and began making the arrangements for the visit. There were decisions to be made.  How would the President tour the manufacturing plant?  Who would represent The Rodon Group on the tour?  Where would the event be held in the facility and how would access be staged?  And, what contingency plans needed to be considered?
